Rosetta is one of Mexico City's most beloved restaurants, where chef Elena Reygadas has created an idiosyncratic and deeply personal Italian-Mexican synthesis that draws on her training in Italy and her roots in Mexico City's middle-class culinary culture. Located in a 1906 mansion in the Roma Norte neighborhood, the restaurant's layered rooms and garden courtyard create an atmosphere of civilized warmth, and the bakery annex has become one of the most important bakeries in Latin America in its own right. Reygadas — named Best Female Chef in Latin America's 50 Best — has built a Rosetta universe that includes a café, a patisserie, and an outpost in the Reforma hotel, all sharing the restaurant's values of quality, simplicity, and warmth.
