Democracy Monument

The Democracy Monument in Bangkok is a Rationalist-style monument at the center of Ratchadamnoen Avenue, commemorating the 1932 Siamese Revolution that transformed the country from an absolute to a constitutional monarchy. The central tower is flanked by four wing-shaped structures representing the Thai constitution and the four branches of the military. The monument has served as a focal point for Thailand's political demonstrations, protests, and civic ceremonies for nearly a century.
