명소
Cathedral of Saint Domnius
명소
The Cathedral of Saint Domnius in Split is the oldest cathedral in the world still in regular use, converted from the octagonal Roman mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian (who persecuted Christians) into a Christian church in the 7th century. The irony of turning a persecutor's tomb into a cathedral dedicated to his Christian victims was not lost on medieval commentators. The cathedral's campanile offers the best views over the UNESCO World Heritage palace complex and Adriatic coastline.

Diocletian's Palace
명소
Diocletian's Palace in Split is the most complete and best-preserved late Roman imperial building complex in the world, a massive 4th-century AD waterfront palace built by Emperor Diocletian as his retirement residence. Today this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a living city within the palace walls, where apartments, restaurants, bars, and a cathedral (converted from Diocletian's mausoleum) fill the ancient cellars and peristyle. Walking the lanes of the palace at dusk, between residents hanging laundry and tourists sipping wine in Roman halls, is one of Europe's most extraordinary experiences.
