Arrived in Toronto to connect to the Canadian wilderness. Drove west through Ontario's lakes, then south to Banff National Park. Hiked Lake Louise at sunrise—turquoise water surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Spent days on nature trails, camping under stars so clear they seemed fake. A grizzly bear sighting at a safe distance was the climax of my adventure. Canada's wild beauty is untamed, raw, and absolutely humbling. Two weeks explored only a fraction of this vast nation—I'm returning next year.

Rent a Car in Canada
This adventure focuses on hiking/trekking—car rental less relevant. Most trailheads accessible via local buses, shuttle services, or organized operators. If self-driving to trailheads: secure parking near town/lodge, rent practical SUV/hatchback for mountain roads, ensure insurance covers remote areas, check road conditions before departure. Many trekking regions intentionally limit road access to protect wilderness. Local guides and porters often essential for safety. Book through established operators. Public transport and organized tours usually safer and more convenient for adventures. Hiking safety requires proper gear, fitness, and weather preparedness—prioritize over driving.
