Chengdu North Railway Station is a historic transportation hub serving conventional (non-high-speed) rail services to destinations across Sichuan Province and beyond, including scenic routes to Leshan, Emeishan, Jiuzhaigou, and connections into Yunnan Province. While the newer East Station handles most high-speed traffic, Chengdu North remains important for travellers on scenic slow trains through mountainous Sichuan terrain. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is one of China's busiest airports, having served as the primary aviation gateway to Sichuan Province and western China for decades.
