Jusangjeolli Cliff
Jusangjeolli Cliff on Jeju Island's southwestern coast is a spectacular geological formation of columnar basalt hexagonal rock pillars rising directly from the sea, formed when lava from Hallasan volcano cooled rapidly in the ocean. The 50-meter-high columns create a dramatic natural staircase that has been compared to the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. The coastal walkway along the cliff offers dramatic views and the sight and sound of waves crashing against the ancient basalt.
