Grand Palace Bangkok
The Grand Palace in Bangkok is Thailand's most spectacular royal complex, a dazzling ensemble of royal halls, temples, and ceremonial buildings covering 218,000 sq meters on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Built in 1782 and used by Thai kings until 1925, its golden prangs, gilded pavilions, and the emerald-image of Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) create an overwhelming impression of royal splendor. The complex remains the most visited attraction in Thailand.
