Barcelona Sants Station

Barcelona-Sants is the main railway station of Barcelona and one of the most important rail hubs in Spain, serving as the point of departure for the AVE high-speed rail to Madrid (2.5 hours), Seville, and Valencia, as well as international high-speed connections to Paris via Lyon and the Renfe-SNCF joint service. The station also handles the majority of Barcelona's regional and commuter rail services, and is connected to the city's Metro network via the L3 Green and L5 Blue lines. The station's underground layout beneath the Plaça dels Països Catalans gives it a somewhat anonymous character, but its operational centrality to Spain's rail network makes it indispensable.
