Lake Kawaguchiko

Lake Kawaguchiko is one of the Fuji Five Lakes in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, offering some of the most iconic views of Mount Fuji reflected in its calm waters. Located just 90 minutes from Tokyo, the lake is most famous for its autumn foliage season when maple trees around the shore frame the snow-capped peak in spectacular color. The town of Kawaguchiko has numerous ryokans and onsen offering Mt. Fuji views, and the lake shore is the starting point for the Chureito Pagoda view — one of Japan's most photographed images.
