Abu Simbel Temples
Abu Simbel Temples are twin rock-cut monuments in southern Egypt, built by Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BCE. The Great Temple features four colossal seated statues flanking the entrance, while the Small Temple honors Queen Nefertari. Threatened by the rising Nile, the temples were relocated by UNESCO in the 1960s to save them from flooding. They remain one of ancient Egypt's most awe-inspiring landmarks.
