Luxor Temple
Luxor Temple is a magnificent ancient Egyptian sanctuary built primarily by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II around 1400–1200 BC, dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship. Located in the heart of modern Luxor on the east bank of the Nile, its towering pylons, colonnaded courtyards, and colossal statues are illuminated spectacularly at night. A processional sphinx avenue originally connected it to the great Karnak Temple complex 3 km away.
