ベオグラードの高台に聳えるカレメグダン要塞は、セルビアの首都を象徴する歴史的な城塞です。サヴァ川とドナウ川の合流点を見下ろす戦略的な立地に築かれ、長い歴史の中で数多くの文明が支配を競いました。広大な要塞公園内には博物館、彫刻、動物園などが点在し、市民の憩いの場としても親しまれています。夕暮れ時には二つの大河が交わる絶景を望むことができ、観光客に人気のスポットです。

Saint Sava Temple in Belgrade is the largest Orthodox church in the Balkans and one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, a massive neo-Byzantine domed cathedral dedicated to Serbia's patron saint, the medieval founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Construction began in 1935 but was repeatedly interrupted by wars; the breathtaking gold-and-glass mosaic interior is still being completed. The church sits on the Vračar plateau where Saint Sava's relics were burned by Ottoman forces in 1595.
