St. Vitus Cathedral
St. Vitus Cathedral (Katedrála svatého Víta) is the spiritual and religious center of the Czech nation, a soaring Gothic masterpiece standing within Prague Castle that took nearly 600 years to complete, from 1344 to 1929. The cathedral houses the Crown Jewels of Bohemia, the tomb of Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, and an extraordinary collection of medieval stained glass including windows designed by Art Nouveau master Alfons Mucha. Its south tower offers panoramic views over the castle complex and the city.
