Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is the main airport serving northern Portugal, located approximately 11 km northwest of Porto's city center. The airport is one of Portugal's fastest-growing, handling over 14 million passengers annually with extensive connections across Europe, including frequent budget airline routes from the UK, Germany, France, and Spain, as well as intercontinental services. Metro Line E (the Violet Line) connects the airport directly to central Porto's Aliados station in approximately 35 minutes — one of Europe's most seamless airport metro connections.
