Halong Bay
Ha Long Bay (as referenced from Hanoi) is Vietnam's most celebrated natural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage site, a 1,553 sq km seascape of emerald water dotted with 1,969 limestone karst islands in the Gulf of Tonkin, three hours from Hanoi. The traditional way to experience the bay is on an overnight cruise aboard a wooden junk, anchoring in sheltered lagoons to kayak through caves and explore floating villages. The best season is October-March when visibility is highest.
