Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system, stretching 2,300 km along the northeastern coast of Australia and covering 344,400 km². It is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms and is visible from space. Home to over 1,500 species of fish, 4,000 types of mollusks, and 30 species of whales and dolphins, it is one of the Earth's most biodiverse ecosystems and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
