Delphi Archaeological Site
Delphi was ancient Greece's most sacred sanctuary, home of the Oracle whose prophetic pronouncements shaped the fate of Greek city-states and Persian kings for a millennium. Perched dramatically on the slopes of Mount Parnassus above the Gulf of Corinth, its ruined temples, treasury buildings, theatre, and stadium are among the most atmospherically sited ancient monuments in Europe. The Delphi Archaeological Museum houses an exceptional collection of Bronze Age and Classical sculptures.
