Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge is New York's most iconic structure, a soaring Gothic-arched suspension bridge spanning the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn, completed in 1883 after 14 years of construction that claimed the lives of 27 workers. The pedestrian and cyclist promenade along its upper deck offers the best views of the Manhattan skyline in either direction, with the distinctive towers framing the cityscape above the East River's traffic. At 1,825 meters, it was the world's longest suspension bridge for 20 years.
