Arashiyama

Arashiyama is Kyoto's most scenic riverside district, a picturesque setting of mountains, temples, bamboo groves, and the Ōi River at the western edge of the city. The area encompasses Tenryu-ji temple and its famous garden, the bamboo grove, Nonomiya Shrine, Jojakko-ji hillside temple, and the Togetsukyo Bridge — all within easy walking distance.
