Metro Expo Santa Monica Station

The Metro E Line (formerly Expo Line) Santa Monica Station is the western terminus of Los Angeles' light rail expansion to the coast, which opened in 2016 and transformed how Angelenos access the beach. The station sits at 4th Street and Colorado Avenue, placing it within a short walk of the Santa Monica Pier, the Third Street Promenade, and the Tongva Park waterfront. From here, the E Line connects to downtown Los Angeles' 7th St/Metro Center in about 46 minutes without touching the freeway — a significant alternative to the notoriously congested I-10 and PCH routes.
