Zion National Park
Zion National Park (second reference) is Utah's most visited national park, a canyon of soaring Navajo sandstone cliffs in shades of cream, pink, and red carved by the Virgin River over millions of years. The Angels Landing summit hike — with its final chain-assisted scramble along a knife-edge ridge to a summit 454 meters above the canyon floor — is America's most exhilarating day hike. The Narrows, where hikers wade through the river between 300-meter walls barely 10 meters apart, is equally extraordinary.
