Bright Angel Trail
The Bright Angel Trail is the most famous hiking trail in the Grand Canyon, descending 15 km and 1,448 meters from the South Rim to the Colorado River through four geological zones that span nearly two billion years of Earth's history. The well-maintained trail follows a natural fault line used by the Havasupai people for centuries and passes two rest houses with water (in season). Reaching the river and back in a day is only possible for very fit hikers starting before dawn in cool weather.
