Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah is not actually a canyon but an amphitheater of thousands of orange, red, and white hoodoos (eroded limestone spires) created by a remarkable combination of geology and freezing cycles. The Bryce Amphitheater's main viewpoints — Inspiration Point, Bryce Point, and Sunset Point — overlook a labyrinth of hoodoos that seems to extend to the horizon. The park is also one of the best places in the American West to view dark skies, with minimal light pollution across its high plateau.

Bright Angel Trail

The Bright Angel Trail is the most famous hiking trail in the Grand Canyon, descending 15 km and 1,448 meters from the South Rim to the Colorado River through four geological zones that span nearly two billion years of Earth's history. The well-maintained trail follows a natural fault line used by the Havasupai people for centuries and passes two rest houses with water (in season). Reaching the river and back in a day is only possible for very fit hikers starting before dawn in cool weather.
