Erg Chebbi Dunes

Merzouga · Morocco

Erg Chebbi is Morocco's most dramatic Saharan landscape—towering orange sand dunes near Merzouga rising up to 150 meters from the flat desert floor. Classic Saharan experiences include camel treks at sunset, overnight stays in luxury desert camps under an extraordinary starlit sky, and sunrise photography of illuminated dune crests. The nearby lake at Hassilabied attracts flamingos and migratory birds in wet seasons.
