Jay Fai

Jay Fai is Bangkok's most celebrated street food restaurant, a small shophouse in the Banglamphu neighborhood where the octogenarian owner-chef Supinya Junsuta (known as Jay Fai) has been cooking over charcoal fires wearing giant ski goggles since the 1980s. In 2018 she became the first street food vendor to be awarded a Michelin star, bringing global attention to her legendary drunken noodles (pad kee mao), whole fried sea bass with Thai herbs, and crab omelet. Reservations are now required months in advance.
