Algarve · Portugal

Benagil Cave is one of Portugal's most spectacular sea caves, accessible only by boat, kayak, or swim from Benagil beach in the Algarve. A perfect circular skylight in the cave's domed ceiling illuminates the golden sandstone interior and the turquoise pool below, creating a cathedral-like effect that has made it one of the most photographed natural wonders in Europe. The cave is best visited by guided boat tour from Benagil or Portimão.

Fortaleza de Sagres

Fortaleza de Sagres (Sagres Fort) is a dramatic promontory fortress at the southwestern tip of the Algarve, occupying the windswept headland where Henry the Navigator is said to have established his legendary school of navigation that launched the Age of Exploration.
