Barcelona Sants Station

Barcelona · Spain

Barcelona-Sants is the main railway station of Barcelona and one of the most important rail hubs in Spain, serving as the point of departure for the AVE high-speed rail to Madrid (2.5 hours), Seville, and Valencia, as well as international high-speed connections to Paris via Lyon and the Renfe-SNCF joint service. The station also handles the majority of Barcelona's regional and commuter rail services, and is connected to the city's Metro network via the L3 Green and L5 Blue lines. The station's underground layout beneath the Plaça dels Països Catalans gives it a somewhat anonymous character, but its operational centrality to Spain's rail network makes it indispensable.

Tickets Restaurant Barcelona

Tickets is the most accessible and exuberant restaurant from the Adrià brothers' family of Barcelona establishments, conceived as a tapas bar paying homage to Spanish street food and carnival tradition. The dining room is theatrical — decorated with marquee lights, circus motifs, and whimsical set-dressing — and the menu is a succession of innovative small plates that draw on Albert Adrià's creativity and technical command. Highlights include the olive spherifications (a nod to elBulli's molecular gastronomy heritage), king crab empanadas, and a sequence of extraordinary desserts. Tickets routinely ranks among Europe's most-booked restaurants, with reservations opening two months in advance and disappearing within hours.

Bodega 1900 Barcelona

Bodega 1900 is Albert Adrià's loving reinterpretation of the traditional Spanish bodega-taberna, a neighborhood tavern format that Adrià elevates through technical refinement while maintaining all the social warmth and informality of the original. Located in the Eixample district, the restaurant's menu pays homage to classic Spanish vermouth-hour snacks — Valencian olives, anchovies, pan con tomate, cañas — presented with Adrià's meticulous attention to sourcing and execution. The wine list focuses on traditional Spanish varietals, and the atmosphere — tiled walls, marble bar, high stools, and the gentle buzz of a full house — captures something essential and irreplaceable about Barcelona's food culture.

Mercat de Sant Antoni

Mercat de Sant Antoni in Barcelona's Eixample district is a beautifully restored 19th-century iron market hall surrounded by a legendary Sunday book market that spills across the surrounding streets. After years of restoration work, the market reopened in 2015 as both a thriving food market during the week and an antique book market on Sundays, beloved by locals who prize it as an authentic alternative to the tourist-heavy Boqueria. The surrounding area has become one of Barcelona's most vibrant food and cultural neighborhoods.
