San Fermin Festival
The San Fermín Festival, known locally as Sanfermines in Spanish and Sanferminak in Basque, is a week-long traditional celebration in Pamplona, Navarre, held in honour of Saint Fermin, the region’s co-patron. Traditionally running from 6 to 14 July, it opens with fireworks known as the chupinazo and ends with the song “Pobre de mí.” Its best-known feature is the running of the bulls, held each morning from 7 to 14 July, alongside other traditional and folkloric events. Visitors can experience Pamplona’s distinctive cultural atmosphere and observe the festivities. Check current official dates and arrangements before travelling.
