Day 1

  1. Bangkok Wat Pho

    Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) is Bangkok's oldest and largest temple complex, home to the magnificent gold-plated Reclining Buddha measuring 46 meters long and 15 meters high, with mother-of-pearl inlaid feet depicting the 108 auspicious characteristics of the Buddha. The temple is considered the birthplace of traditional Thai massage and houses Thailand's first university, where stone inscriptions of traditional knowledge were displayed as public education. Over 1,000 Buddha images and 91 stupas fill the sprawling complex, making it an essential cultural and religious experience in Bangkok.

    The Grand Palace is Bangkok's most spectacular landmark and the most visited site in Thailand, a magnificent complex of glittering buildings, temples, and ceremonial halls covering 218,400 square meters at the heart of the old city. Built in 1782 when Bangkok became the capital, the palace served as the official residence of the Thai King for 150 years and continues to be used for royal ceremonies and state occasions. Within the complex stands Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), Thailand's most sacred Buddhist temple.
