Reunification Palace

The Reunification Palace (Independence Palace) in Ho Chi Minh City is the most significant political landmark in Vietnam, the former seat of South Vietnamese government and site of the fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975. When a North Vietnamese tank famously crashed through its gates, the Vietnam War effectively ended. The palace's extraordinary 1960s modernist interiors — war rooms, reception halls, and rooftop helipad — are preserved exactly as they were.
