Lunar New Year

In Vietnam, Lunar New Year is known as Tết, the country’s most important cultural celebration. It welcomes spring on the first day of the first Vietnamese lunisolar month, usually falling between late January and 20 February in the Gregorian calendar. Tết brings together traditional culture and family life; visitors may encounter family gatherings, cultural festivities, ancestor remembrance and acts of charity. Vietnamese Catholic communities may also mark the occasion with special Masses and thanksgiving.
