Queenstown Gardens is located on a peninsula jutting into Lake Wakatipu right next to downtown Queenstown, making it the perfect spot to combine a lakeside stroll with a visit to the botanical garden. The garden’s mature trees, rose garden, and ponds offer opportunities to photograph the lake and mountains, as well as to pause and observe the plants and public art; the colors of the flowers and the scenery change with the seasons. The peninsula’s walking trails offer views of the lake and surrounding mountains from various angles. Visitors who don’t wish to undertake a long hike can also enjoy it as a light outdoor stop during their city tour.
