Ladbroke Grove is a broad tree-lined boulevard running through North Kensington in West London, the spine of a neighborhood historically associated with Caribbean immigrant communities, the arts, and bohemian counterculture. The street and surrounding area have been home to artists, musicians, and writers who shaped London's creative underground, and the Portobello Road Market runs nearby. The entire area comes spectacularly alive each August Bank Holiday weekend when the Notting Hill Carnival transforms the streets into Europe's largest street festival celebrating Caribbean culture.
