Bali Arts Festival (Indonesia)

The Bali Arts Festival, known locally as Pesta Kesenian Bali, is an annual month-long celebration of Balinese art and culture in Denpasar. Since 1979, it has brought traditional dance, music, theatre, crafts and rituals into a public cultural programme that helps preserve and develop the island’s artistic heritage. The festival usually opens with a parade around the Bajra Sandhi Monument and continues at the Taman Werdhi Budaya Art Centre. Visitors may encounter daily performances, competitions, seminars, exhibitions, handicrafts and authentic Balinese cuisine, with artists from Bali, elsewhere in Indonesia and abroad.
