Osaka Castle
Osaka Castle (the second reference) stands as an enduring symbol of Osaka's feudal power and Toyotomi Hideyoshi's ambition to unify Japan in the late 16th century. The castle complex, including its massive stone foundation and moat system, is a testament to the engineering capabilities of the Sengoku period. The park surrounding the castle is particularly beautiful in spring when hundreds of cherry trees bloom.
