Vieux Lyon
Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon) is one of Europe's largest and best-preserved Renaissance urban districts, a UNESCO World Heritage quarter of five-story ochre and pink façaded buildings along the Saône River at the foot of Fourvière Hill. Its extraordinary network of traboules — covered passageways cutting through buildings used by silk workers and later by the Resistance — is a unique architectural feature. The area's bouchons (traditional Lyon restaurants) serve quintessential Lyonnais cuisine.
