Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU)
Felipe Ángeles International Airport opened in 2022 as the centerpiece of a massive federal infrastructure project, located at the former Santa Lucía Air Force Base approximately 50 km northeast of central Mexico City. The airport was conceived to relieve pressure on the congested Benito Juárez Airport and to develop the northern metropolitan region, and it has gradually attracted airlines including Viva Aerobus, Aeromar, and VivaAerobus for both domestic and international routes. Transport from the city center is provided by the Mexibús and suburban railway services, though the journey time of 1-2 hours remains a consideration for travelers choosing between the city's airports.
