Fairy Pools

The Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye are a series of extraordinarily clear turquoise and blue plunge pools fed by waterfalls cascading down from the Black Cuillin mountains. The easy 5-km round-trip walk from Glenbrittle through wild highland scenery leads to pools where the water is so clear the rocky bottom is visible even at depth. Wild swimming in the icy pools is popular with the brave; most visitors are content to marvel at the vivid colors.
