Amsterdam Flower Market
Amsterdam’s floating flower market, known locally as the Bloemenmarkt, has stood on the Singel canal between Muntplein and Koningsplein since 1862. It offers a glimpse of Dutch floristry and the long-running commerce surrounding flowers, bulbs and floral goods. Visitors can stroll among its 15 souvenir and gift shops, browse tulip bulbs and related items, and see how a historic market now caters largely to tourists; only a few shops still sell fresh flowers. Bulb quality can vary, so choose carefully. If you plan to visit in April, check current official dates and arrangements before travelling.
