Boulders Beach
Boulders Beach near Simon's Town on the Cape Peninsula is home to a large colony of African penguins who have made their home among the giant granite boulders, creating one of the most extraordinary and accessible wildlife encounters in southern Africa. Visitors can swim in the sheltered turquoise water alongside the penguins, or watch them from boardwalks winding through the colony. The colony has grown from just two breeding pairs in 1982 to over 2,000 birds today.
